COPYPASTE PALETTE

The Palette is the most convenient way to access all the features of CopyPaste and to learn how it works. 

You can show or hide the Palette in 3 ways:
	1. Hold down the ⌘ key while hitting the C then P keys (⌘ C P). 
	2. Select the item "Palette" from the CopyPaste Utilities menu.
	3. Type the ⌘ C  and click while continuing to hold down the ⌘ key. When you do this to show the Palette, the Palette will be placed where you have the marker.

Repeating any command will show or hide the palette.

When the option "Use Popup Palette" is on in the Preferences, the Palette will automatically collapse to icon size when not used. By simply pointing to the Palette icon, it will expand to normal size. The Palette can be resized to show up to 64 characters of each copied text portion in the content area. The Palette icon will be located at the right edge of the Palette when it was right from the middle of the screen area or at the left edge when the Palette was left from the middle of the screen area. Thereby the icon can be positioned at any place on the screen

Clicking in the zoom box toggles the Palettes size from expanded to contracted. The individual screen positions for both are remembered through restarts. When the Palette is in its small size (after hitting the zoom box in the top right corner), then clipboards with data will have a gray background and empty clipboards will be white. This indicator lets you see which clipboards are empty and which are full, since you can't see the data in the contracted palette.

Each clipboard has a button C for Copy and P for Paste. Option-clicking on any of the Palettes C buttons cuts a selection. Option-clicking on a P button pastes the clip and empties that clipboard. Shift-clicking on any of the Palettes C buttons appends selected text to the clipboard (if it already contains Text).

Clicking in the content area opens the Clipboard Viewer. The Clipboard Viewer lets you view more of the contents of the clipboard. It also allows you to see a picture and to hear a sound. See the Clipboard Viewer chapter for more details. 

You can move the clips which you can see in the content area of the Palette around via Drag and Drop. If you Drag and Drop a clip to a different clipboard, this will exchange the two clips. If you drag any item to the Palette, it will be converted to clipboard data (if possible) which you can paste anywhere. Any file can be dragged to the Palette, but it will only read the content of Text, Pict and Sound files: with other formats only a little file info is read in and displayed in the Clipboard Viewer. Dragging a clip out of the Palette requires the “Drag&Drop Helper” program is running.

If you press the command key and drag a file which contains a FKey resource to the Palette,  this FKey resource will be executed. For Programmer this is a fast way to test a new  tool  which should work with CopyPaste.

The Cassette/Clover Leaf: The cassette icon switches to the Clip Recorder view. Clicking on the clover leaf icon switches back to the Clip Extender view. 

The Question Mark: Online Help is available from the ? button at the bottom of the Palette. It has all the data in this manual. Option-click on the button shows the "About" box.

The Preferences: The Preferences icon (left of the question mark) opens the Preferences dialog box. 

The Trash Can: Clicking on the trash allows you to delete all clips. To delete a single clip, option-click on it.

The following icons will drop down menus for the different CopyPaste Utilities.

The A button: a Text utilities drop-down menu is located here.
The Pict button: Pict utilities can be accessed from this drop-down menu.
The Time button: these Time/Date utilities can insert and convert dates and times.
The Wrench button: miscellaneous utilities can be found here.
The @ button: handy internet utilities are operated from this drop-down menu.
The document button: add text to the Clip Archives here.
The ClipSet icon: drops down the Clip Set menu. Use this to switch among 10 sets of 10 clipboards.  Each is renameable from the preferences dialog.
